Ideal candidates have deep distributed systems expertise, are strong communicators, and have a track record of leading cross-team platform initiatives and mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of backend or platform engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating internal platforms or shared services used by multiple teams.
• Strong distributed systems design with consistency, availability, latency, and failure-mode focus.
• Proficiency in at least one major backend language (Java/Go/Scala/Rust/C++).
• Experience with high-throughput messaging systems (Kafka/Pulsar/NATS).
• Knowledge of relational, key-value, document, and search data stores.
• Experience leading multi-quarter platform initiatives with stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate foundational backend platforms and shared services used by multiple engineering teams.
• Architect for high throughput, low latency, and low operational toil across services.
• Lead multi-quarter platform initiatives with strong technical decision-making and mentoring.
