You will focus on building backend platform capabilities—request routing, traffic management, data fan-out, caching layers, asynchronous job execution, and durable event processing—that scale to very high traffic with predictable latency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, software engineering, or related field.
• 11+ years of backend or platform engineering experience.
• Experience building internal platforms used by multiple teams.
• Designing distributed systems with consistency, availability, latency, and failure handling.
• Expertise in one major backend language (Java/Go/Scala/Rust/C++).
• Experience with high-throughput messaging/streaming (Kafka/Pulsar/NATS).
• Knowledge of relational, key-value, document, and search data stores.
• Proven multi-quarter platform initiatives with cross-team leadership.
• Strong written/verbal communication; ability to write design docs.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering culture.
