Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating backend or platform systems in production.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience designing and operating large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems.
• Hands-on experience building backend services using Python (Django). Willingness to work across stacks.
• Experience developing and maintaining API-driven systems, including RESTful services and asynchronous or event-based integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts and experience deploying and operating services in public cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical initiatives, including system design, implementation, production rollout, and iteration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous, cross-team environments.
• Experience collaborating closely with product managers and cross-functional partners to deliver business-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable backend services and enterprise integration platforms that support patient- and provider-facing digital experiences.
• Lead the implementation of clean, reliable APIs and integrations (internal and external), using REST, event-driven messaging, and other modern integration patterns.
• Own complex features and platform initiatives end to end, from technical design and implementation through production deployment and iteration.
• Contribute directly to the evolution of digital products by delivering backend capabilities that enable new functionality, improved performance, and system reliability.
• Review, respond to, and help drive resolution of operational issues, escalating and coordinating as necessary
