Job summary

Unity is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on an internal AI product analytics agent. You will own the data layer, build ETL pipelines, and extend the knowledge layer for retrieval and evaluation, partnering with data scientists to deliver scalable analytics capabilities.

You will contribute to the roadmap for data quality and product capabilities, delivering usable features early while shaping the platform for analytics users across Unity.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on data engineering experience: SQL, data modelling, pipelines.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse, ideally BigQuery.
• Experience with LLM/agent systems and retrieval quality.
• Able to work with loosely defined briefs and ship usable features.
• Collaborative with data scientists and analytics users.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve analytics datasets and data modelling for the agent.
• Build and maintain ETL and transformation pipelines for datasets.
• Improve knowledge retrieval, context construction, and prompt history.
• Develop evaluation systems to measure answer quality and drive improvements.
• Develop backend agent workflows for prompt handling and orchestration.
• Create user-facing features to speed analytics workflows for technical and non-technical users.
• Collaborate with data scientists to turn analytics needs into reusable capabilities.
• Contribute to roadmap and direction for data and quality surfaces.
