Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience building and operating user-facing applications and their infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Golang, GraphQL, and Postgres with demonstrated high-performance optimizations.
• Experience with major public cloud providers, preferably AWS.
• Strong data modeling, DB performance tuning, state management, API design, and scaling knowledge.
• Proven ownership of foundational system work in distributed systems and collaboration across teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to lead technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and prioritize architectural problems across distributed backend systems.
• Design and implement solutions for performance optimization, infrastructure management, and data model improvements.
• Raise engineering quality with pragmatic standards and guardrails to prevent regressions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer teams to align on needs and tradeoffs.
• Mentor engineers and help raise the bar on system design and team collaboration.
