Job summary

Rippling is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Time and Attendance team within the Workforce management domain. You will build scalable backend systems and own the full lifecycle from design to production, enabling employees to track time accurately and be paid correctly.

As an early team member, you’ll drive architecture, mentor engineers, and explore AI-enabled features to enhance in-product experiences, while maintaining reliability and performance at global scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Frontend knowledge with React or JavaScript is a plus.
• Strong CS fundamentals, algorithms, and system design, including async patterns and caching.

Responsibilities

• Write scalable, high-performance backend systems powering workforce management products.
• Move fast with precision to deliver high-quality features.
• Drive architecture & design, owning the product lifecycle from ideation to production.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Mentor and lead senior and junior engineers, promoting best practices.
• Shape team culture, structure, and processes as an early member.
