Job summary

Rippling is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Time and Attendance team within Workforce management. You will own the lifecycle of critical software, from architecture to hands-on development, mentoring senior and junior engineers on a fast-moving team with global impact.

You'll shape the future of a rapidly growing product suite, explore AI in-product solutions, and help businesses manage their most valuable asset—their people.

Qualifications

8+ years of backend development experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Experience with event-driven architectures and scalable system design.
Frontend experience with React or JavaScript is a plus.
Strong CS fundamentals and proficiency in async patterns, caching, and sharding.
Product-focused, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

Write scalable, maintainable backend systems powering critical workforce products.
Drive architecture and full product lifecycle decisions for fault-tolerant systems.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and teams to refine the roadmap.
Mentor engineers and promote best practices across the team.
Shape team culture, structure, and processes as an early member.
