Job summary

Vanta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Test Core team. You will drive core backend systems to support automated security checks, scale DataDog observability, and mentor peers. You’ll shape technical direction and own end-to-end execution of critical features.

You will collaborate across teams to ensure reliability, performance, and correctness in production. Prior experience with large-scale systems and AI-assisted tooling is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and operating reliable, scalable backend systems in production.
• Ability to design APIs and data models for complex backend services.
• Proven track record delivering shipped software with measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Own complex projects from problem definition through implementation and rollout.
• Design and evolve backend systems, APIs, and data models for Tests and results.
• Improve reliability, performance, and observability of the Tests runtime.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes.
