Job summary

Vanta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead technical direction and mentoring across the integrations platform. You will shape core APIs, authentication, and data ingestion for scalable integrations with cloud providers, HRIS, and identity services.

You will drive security, reliability, and developer productivity through robust backend services and tooling. You will mentor teammates, set design patterns, and leverage AI responsibly to enhance efficiency and impact, while collaborating

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development building reliable, scalable systems.
• Platform and API design: evolved APIs, SDKs, platform abstractions with security.
• Data integrations: ingestion from external systems and cloud providers with best practices.
• Systems thinking at scale: design for scale, reliability, and failure modes.
• Technical leadership and cross-team influence: led teams and projects across org.
• Internal enablement and evangelism: create sample integrations, docs, and workshops.
• Bonus: startup or bias-for-action environments, multi-region or Gov deployments, security/compliance experience.
• Willingness to use AI to amplify skills and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy and direction for core platform areas.
• Design and evolve APIs, primitives, and self-service paths for internal teams, partners, and customers.
• Own authentication, data ingestion, and schema evolution primitives for secure, scalable integrations.
• Build secure, well-documented backend services and developer tooling including CI/CD.
• Drive performance, reliability, and SDLC best practices and guide trade-offs.
