Job summary

Vanta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead and mentor engineers, delivering high-value products and scalable infrastructure. You will set technical direction, own backend systems, APIs, and platform primitives, and drive complex projects across the stack.

You will work with a talented team, leverage modern frameworks, and mentor others while contributing to an engineering culture as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Have at least 5 years of industry experience with backend development.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling backend systems and APIs.
• Led technical teams or complex projects.
• Startup experience or bias for action.
• Interest in security and AI to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders and engineers to deliver significant impact to our business.
• Set direction for critical technical surface areas, enabling us to stay ahead of continued rapid growth.
• Design, develop, and own new product functionality and/or infrastructure leveraging modern frameworks and tooling (TypeScript, React, Node.js).
• Work with talented and kind engineers to make a significant impact on our customer base, enabling them to improve their security and prove it.
• Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow.
