Job summary

Vanta is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer for the Integrations Platform. You will set technical direction to scale our product and infrastructure, mentor engineers, and drive high-impact projects across the tech stack using TypeScript, Node.js, and modern tooling.

You will own authentication, data ingestion, and schema evolution for secure, scalable integrations with cloud providers and HRIS systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development delivering reliable, scalable systems.
• Platform and API design with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, OAuth/JWT security.
• Data integrations with cloud providers, HRIS, identity providers, and code repos.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy and direction for critical platform surface areas.
• Design and evolve APIs, primitives, and self-service golden paths for internal teams, partners, and customers.
• Own authentication, data-ingestion, and schema-evolution primitives for secure, scalable integrations.
• Build secure, well-documented backend services and developer tooling (including CI/CD).
• Drive performance, reliability, and SDLC best practices; evaluate buy-vs-build decisions.
