Job summary

Plume is seeking a backend software engineer to build scalable, production-grade systems powering customer-facing products and internal platforms. You will design RESTful and gRPC APIs, craft cloud-native microservices, and develop data pipelines with real-time and batch processing.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and cross-functional squads to ship features while upholding architectural integrity, security, and observability.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Scala, Go, Java and Python.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Understand computer networking, operating systems, and databases.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Familiarity with data engineering (ETL, Kafka/Pulsar) and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, testing frameworks, and observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain RESTful and gRPC APIs powering internal and external apps.
• Architect and deploy scalable microservices in cloud environments using Kubernetes.
• Build real-time and batch data pipelines with emphasis on observability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional squads to deliver features end-to-end.
• Optimize services for scalability, resilience, and high availability.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and enforce coding standards.
