Plume's Cloud Platform team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the future of our industry-leading platform. At our scale, every technical decision matters — you'll tackle complex distributed systems challenges daily, architecting solutions that power millions of connected devices worldwide.

This high-impact role involves end-to-end delivery across cloud, embedded, front-end, data, and product teams, mentoring engineers, and leading by example in a Kubernetes-driven environment.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years shipping production-quality code and leading complex projects.
• Strong in Java, Scala, Node.js, or Rust with cloud-native AWS/GCP exposure.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and OO design.
• Excellent communication; able to distill complex ideas for engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale software across cloud, embedded, frontend, data, and product teams.
• Set technical standards; write clean code and promote engineering best practices.
• Tackle scalability and integration challenges for a platform at massive scale.
• Own services in a Kubernetes ecosystem from design to on-call operations.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong production-support culture.
• Participate in rotating on-call duties.
