Job summary

Resend is hiring senior backend engineers to own features end-to-end, building and operating reliable distributed systems at scale. You will design APIs, dashboards, and services, while ensuring performance and resilience as usage grows.

The role emphasizes collaboration with support and a strong emphasis on on-call readiness and quality. Candidates should have 8+ years in software engineering, with production experience in backend services, queues, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial backend services in production.
• Experience with queues, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems including retries, duplicates, concurrency, and partial failures.
• Ability to design systems from scratch and plan rollout.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end: from scope to APIs, dashboards, and services behind them.
• Build reliable distributed systems with queues, workers, and resilient design.
• Scale APIs and databases for growing usage and performance.
• Operate what you build: monitoring, safe deployments, and on-call involvement.
• Collaborate with support to turn customer problems into product improvements.
