Homeward, a remote-first real estate tech company, is seeking a Senior Back-end Engineer to build scalable backend services for a cash-offer and title platform used with real estate agents.

The role focuses on Python web development with Django/Flask/FastAPI, REST APIs, CI/CD, and AI-assisted tooling. We welcome candidates based in Latin America for a long-term contract and remote collaboration with distributed teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional back-end development experience.
• Strong knowledge of REST API development.
• Experience with Python.
• Familiar with Django, Flask or FastAPI.
• Experience with AI productivity tools and LLM APIs.
• Ability to prototype quickly and ship features.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD.
• Comfort working with distributed teams and agile processes.
• Quality-focused with testing and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, debug and modify backend components in an agile environment.
• Write unit and integration tests to support CI pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and flexibility.
• Contribute to SDLC processes and agile practices.
• Prototype fast and implement technical vision with peers.
• Collaborate with distributed cross-functional teams.
• Resolve issues and drive them to closure.
• Improve software processes and tooling within the team.
• Assist in user story creation and AI-powered feature design.
