Job summary

S27a is seeking a dynamic Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems powering our AI platform. This fully remote role in the US offers a base salary of $150,000–$200,000 plus equity.

You will lead feature development for an agent-based ecosystem, define the technical vision, promote engineering best practices, and own projects from concept through production and ongoing evolution.

Qualifications

• Deep experience designing and operating large-scale production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Go for building reliable services.
• Experience taking systems from concept to production and ownership.
• Able to influence technical direction across teams.
• Ability to connect engineering decisions to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core features for a composite AI platform.
• Define and own the platform's technical vision and roadmap.
• Promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns.
• Act as a senior technical leader, providing guidance on complex engineering trade-offs.
• Develop high impact software solutions addressing complex business problems.
