Kapitus, a software company, is hiring a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain backend services with a focus on Python and Flask within an AWS-centric environment. The role involves collaborating on architecture, building scalable platforms, and mentoring junior engineers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of engineering experience, strong Python/Flask skills, and proficiency with AWS services and CI/CD pipelines. Remote-friendly with a focus on US-based candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of Python with Flask experience preferred.
• Experience with AWS services including Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB.
• 2+ years of Salesforce experience.
• 3+ years building/deploying CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (OpenTofu, Terraform).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with product owners.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain new software for internal customers from the ground up.
• Define architecture, patterns, and engineering practices for a new platform and integrate with/derive from legacy apps.
• Develop backend services primarily in Python, focusing on Flask.
• Build and integrate solutions using AWS services (Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB).
• Maintain and improve deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes.
• Build and maintain infrastructure using OpenTofu and Terraform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align with product roadmap in Agile/Scrum.
• Partner with Tech Lead and Engineering Manager to make technical decisions.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering standards.
• Mentor junior developers on Python and engineering practices.
