Job summary

Kapitus, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer to join our engineering team. You’ll design, build, and maintain backend services in Python with a focus on Flask, while integrating AWS services such as Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB.

You’ll help shape the architecture and the deployment pipelines that support our lending platform. You will collaborate with product owners and leadership to deliver on the roadmap in an Agile/Scrum environment, mentor junior developers, and contribute

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Strong Python and Flask experience.
• AWS experience with Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB.
• Salesforce experience 2+ years.
• 3+ years CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
• Strong code quality and documentation skills.
• IaC experience with OpenTofu and Terraform.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and leadership to deliver roadmap.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Growth mindset and mentorship focus.
• Financial services or lending experience a plus.
• AWS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for internal customers.
• Define architecture and engineering patterns for a new platform.
• Develop backend services in Python (Flask).
• Build solutions using AWS services (Lambda/Cognito/SNS/SQS/DynamoDB).
• Maintain deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes.
• Build infrastructure with OpenTofu and Terraform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align with product roadmap in Agile/Scrum.
• Partner with Tech Lead and Engineering Manager for scalable practices.
• Participate in code reviews and set engineering standards.
• Mentor junior developers on Python and practices.
