JetBrains is hiring for a backend systems role focused on entitlement, metering, and billing orchestration within the Cloud Platform. You will own end-to-end data flows, ensure correct licensing and usage accounting, and evolve a scalable domain model for complex pricing structures in a distributed environment.

• Experience building and operating backend services on the JVM with Kotlin or Java.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and live schema migrations.
• Hands-on with distributed systems patterns, idempotency, retries, and reconciliation.
• Experience delivering live data migrations with feature flags and staged rollouts.
• Ability to design versioned, backward-compatible APIs for teams.
• Proficiency in English, written and spoken.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate backend services for entitlements and usage costs.
• Own end-to-end data flows from licensing data to quota enforcement and billing.
• Evolve domain models for seat-based and usage-based plans.
• Design integrations with external systems, ensuring correctness via idempotency and ordering.
• Plan migrations with feature flags, dual writes, backfills, and verification.
• Build observability with invariants, metrics, and alerts to catch divergence.
• Develop versioned internal APIs for JetBrains teams.
• Improve performance and reliability under production load.
• Write integration tests against real dependencies and maintain tests.
• Investigate incidents, root causes, and implement lasting fixes.
