Job summary

Horizon3.ai is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for Licensing, Usage & Entitlements. You will build services determining purchases, enabled capabilities, and usage limits for NodeZero customers. You’ll own end-to-end features, ensure data integrity, and collaborate across Product and engineering to deliver safe production changes.

The role emphasizes robust testing, observability, and clear contract design, with remote-first work and strong compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience designing APIs and data models for business-critical services.
• Strong SQL and production troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Docker; familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Strong testing and observability; ownership of production services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain services representing purchases, packaging, and usage limits.
• Own features from design to rollout with focus on correctness and impact.
• Evolve entitlement and usage workflows across direct and MSP/MSPP accounts.
• Collaborate with Product and engineering to define interfaces and resolve edge cases.
• Improve tests, observability, runbooks, and production documentation.
• Investigate production issues and implement durable fixes.
• Review code and proposals and share context with engineers.
