Job summary

LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Billing team to own APIs for plans, pricing, entitlements, and usage limits. You will decompose the billing monolith into scalable services and take end-to-end ownership of accuracy, metering, invoicing, and data reconciliation.

You will work with Go, TypeScript, Postgres, AWS, and Terraform, delivering safe migrations and maintainable systems with strong production ownership including on-call.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software-engineering experience.
• Experience decomposing a monolith into services.
• History of building correct, testable backend systems with safe migrations.
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, Python, or similar and cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design and build systems for plans, pricing, entitlements, and limits exposed via API.
• Decompose billing from monolith into independently deployable services.
• Own end-to-end correctness including usage metering, reconciliation, invoices, and usage data.
• Operate what you build with SLOs, alerts, and on-call ownership.
