E-Space in Saratoga, CA seeks a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain the backend platform powering connected-device products. You will work across cloud services, APIs, data pipelines, fleet management, and real-time device communications.

This hands-on role requires collaboration with embedded, hardware, frontend, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features. Strong Python and AWS experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software development experience in production systems.
• Strong Python experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask, or comparable frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL, schema design, migrations, and data lifecycle management.
• Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, S3, Cognito) and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with MQTT, WebSockets, or real-time data delivery.
• Experience designing REST APIs and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve Python/FastAPI backend services and REST/WebSocket endpoints.
• Develop features for device provisioning, fleet management, telemetry, events, and OTA updates.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and data retention strategies.
• Build data-ingestion services using AWS components and infrastructure as code.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; participate in code reviews.
