Job summary

Payabli is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to help build the backend of its payments platform, powering merchant dashboards and integrations. You will design services that route payments, manage connectors, and configure the platform at scale.

This hands-on role requires leadership, collaboration with product and engineering teams, and mentoring junior engineers while shaping architecture for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production backend services.
• Strong experience with payments/FinTech or high-volume transaction processing.
• Designing and building RESTful and/or event-driven APIs.
• Relational databases, data modelling, and distributed systems knowledge.
• Experience building secure, scalable cloud-based applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using C# and .NET.
• Develop core infrastructure for payment routing, connectors, and platform configuration.
• Create secure, extensible APIs for customer-facing apps and AI workflows.
• Build observable services that process high-volume payments with performance in mind.
• Lead architecture decisions and code reviews; mentor junior engineers.
• Own full lifecycle from requirements through deployment.
