Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Financing Engineering team to design, build, and scale backend services for loan lifecycle across Portfolio Margin and Trade Finance. You will own critical backend systems enabling revenue and institutional assets on the platform.

The role requires 5+ years of backend experience, proficiency in Go or Java, and strong focus on reliability, data integrity, and observability in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with ownership of high-reliability services.
• Experience designing, scaling service-oriented architectures in Go or Java.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems with strong data integrity.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical design reviews.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of financing products from architecture to production launch.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and frameworks for loan lifecycle and risk.
• Improve tooling, testing, monitoring, and reliability across financing systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Operations to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
• Lead technical initiatives to strengthen system resilience and safe shipping at speed.
