Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a senior backend engineer to own the design and delivery of new financing features, from architecture through production launch, with focus on safety in high-value lending workloads.

You will build and operate distributed services and APIs supporting loan lifecycle, risk calculations, and real-time position tracking, while mentoring engineers and elevating code quality across the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering with production ownership.
• Experience designing and scaling service-oriented architectures.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems with high reliability.
• Mentor engineers and lead design reviews.
• Familiarity with relational stores, gRPC/Protobuf, and observability tooling.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Responsibilities
