Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Financing Engineering team. You will design, build, and scale backend services that manage billions in loans across multiple financing domains, with quarterly in-person surges and a remote-first culture.

You will own architecture-to-production launches, mentor engineers, and collaborate across Product, Risk, and Operations to deliver scalable, safe financing tech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering, ownership of high-reliability services.
• Design, build, and scale service-oriented architectures in Go, Java, or equivalent.
• Experience with distributed systems emphasizing correctness, availability, and data integrity.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, raise code quality.
• Familiarity with relational stores, gRPC/Protobuf, and observability in cloud-native env.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own design and delivery of new financing products from architecture to production launch.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and frameworks for loan lifecycle and risk calculations.
• Improve tooling, testing, monitoring, and reliability of financing systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Operations to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Lead initiatives to strengthen system resilience and safety for rapid shipping.
