Responsibilities span architecture, design, testing, and cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and other engineering teams. You will mentor engineers and raise engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend development experience across databases, caching, and networking.
• Experience as a tech lead on teams with 3+ backend engineers.
• Ability to design and implement distributed systems under high load.
• Self-directed, innovative, and thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Shape the future of Reddit by adapting platforms to evolving privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to build trusted, compliant experiences for millions of users.
• Own product areas and define strategy from design to launch, testing, and analysis.

• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across teams.
