Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help scale one of the internet's largest sites while supporting moderators and cross-functional teams across product and design.

You will work with Go, Python, Rust or Ruby, design APIs, and help drive architecture and execution in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5–8 years of software development experience in Go, Python, Rust or Ruby.
• Experience designing maintainable APIs (GraphQL/REST/HTTP/Thrift or gRPC).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Self-directed, innovative, and proactive in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to build features for moderators.
• Contribute to full development cycle: design, develop, test, and launch; review code and designs.
• Lead a team of engineers, set standards, and mentor colleagues to grow professionally.
• Continuously learn and improve technical and non-technical skills.
