Job summary

Affirm’s Card Loan Platform team builds the high-throughput decision engine at the heart of affirm’s card products. You will lead end-to-end system design for large-scale services, building robust APIs and data models for micro-service and event-driven architectures.

You will partner with product, data science, and engineering to define requirements and execute the card loan attribution and lifecycle strategy, while mentoring junior engineers and driving long-term robustness and scalability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development or engineering experience
• Strong design and architectural skills
• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin and cloud platforms
• Experience with containerization and RESTful APIs
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, prioritization, and execution of projects aligning with product and business goals
• Design and develop large-scale, high-availability services and APIs
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Accounting on requirements and lifecycle strategies
• Ensure system health, performance, and long-term robustness
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices through code reviews
