Job summary

Affim is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Card Ledger & Money Movement) to own backend systems for money movement, bank data and merchant data. You will help build a scalable, extensible platform powering Affim Card and its buy now pay later features.

You will collaborate with product, data science and other engineering teams to design robust solutions, write high quality code and drive delivery with measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Ability to define a technical plan for large features with extensible design.
• Ability to make significant changes in a large code base safely.
• Demonstrated ownership and proactive growth through feedback.
• Strong verbal and written communication for global teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, guiding engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics to define constraints and risks.
• Identify and lead resolution of project, process or technology issues.
• Maintain operations and availability of team artifacts with metrics and on-call support.
• Raise quality and ownership by shaping code review and design standards.
• Develop talent by providing feedback and leading by example.
