Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as Software Engineer/Architect designing blockchain backend systems.
• Master's +3 years alternative path for degree + experience.
• 3 years developing backend systems with Go or Rust.
• 3 years working on protocols spanning L1s to L2s.
• 3 years collaborating with research teams on blockchain tech.
• 3 years building distributed systems with reliable broadcast and high-performance DB storage.
• 3 years working with security in distributed systems.
• 3 years working with blockchain protocols.
• 1 year experience with WebAssembly in production.
• 1 year experience with cloud infra and containerization (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Work on core infrastructure powering Arbitrum and related systems.
• Tackle distributed systems challenges to improve performance, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with research, product, and engineering teams on cutting-edge blockchain tech.
• Provide engineering guidance to clients and internal stakeholders diagnosing core platform issues.
• Maintain Nitro Testnode as a development tool for running local Arbitrum nodes.
• Conduct peer code reviews to ensure code quality and architectural consistency.
• Establish backend architectural standards and tech stack selections.
• Design high-performance compiler pipelines and extensible SDK frameworks.
• Coordinate with Security to address threats in distributed systems.
• Drive the technical roadmap with Product for distributed systems and data modeling.
