Job summary

In Tandem is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to advance our AI-native development across our Family tech platforms. You’ll lead backend work in Java/Spring, review agent outputs, and shape specs for scalable services while collaborating with product, design, QA, and automation teams.

This remote role is limited to candidates in the United States and Minnesota. You will rotate across teams to gain broad platform exposure, ship features daily, and grow into a senior contributor shaping

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production software engineering with a statically typed backend language.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases, ORM behavior, and API design.
• Experience delivering software from inception to production in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend development in a senior AI-native role and review agent outputs.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and automation teams across rotations.
• Define specs, orchestrate multi-file agent work, and ship features to production.
• Contribute to platform-wide architecture and improvements across the SDLC.
