Job summary

RapidSOS is building scalable backend systems powering real-time data for first responders and customers worldwide. We seek a Senior Software Engineer to own features end-to-end, shaping services, data flows, and AI-powered capabilities for a reliable B2B platform.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure performance, resilience, and a high-quality user experience across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend or full-stack experience with Python and React/TypeScript.
• Experience with RESTful APIs in an AWS environment.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases and message buses (RabbitMQ, Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS).
• Strong communication and collaborative skills in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture and implement new features using Python and TypeScript.
• Lead architectural decisions for performance, scalability, and accessibility.
• Apply unit, integration, and performance tests with monitoring.
• Refactor code and upgrade technologies as needed.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, GTM, and Product to deliver solutions.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
• Participate in code reviews and standups, promoting best practices.
• Own meaningful parts of the platform and grow with the company.
