Job summary

Product Genius is seeking a Backend Engineer to build and maintain the core real-time learning AI platform. This fully remote role combines hands-on backend development with API and data-pipeline work, in a fast-moving seed-stage startup environment.

You'll collaborate with AI researchers and engineers, own production systems end-to-end, and leverage agentic AI coding tools to drive rapid iteration while adhering to solid engineering practices and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production backend systems.
• Hands-on daily experience with agentic AI coding tools and managing multiple parallel sessions.
• Experience building APIs and data pipelines connecting live systems to analytics or ML systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, TypeScript, and React.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the backend systems at the core of a real-time learning AI.
• Develop APIs and data pipelines connecting live user behavior to self-learning systems.
• Champion engineering practices: AI-assisted coding, CI/CD, and QA improvements.
• Own production ownership: diagnose issues, dig into logs, and improve testing.
