Job summary

Reddit, Inc. is seeking an experienced backend/platform engineer to design and build scalable developer tooling, APIs, and workflows. You will work across AI-powered workflows and core systems to improve developer velocity, reliability, and productivity for hundreds of engineers.

You will collaborate with CI/CD, infrastructure, security, and product teams, mentor engineers, and shape a roadmap that delivers meaningful improvements while balancing pragmatism with technical excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on, post-graduate software development with backend/platform focus.
• 3+ years in large-scale distributed systems with scalable services.
• Proficiency in Go and production-grade Go applications.
• Experience designing APIs using GraphQL, REST, HTTP, or gRPC.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally to understand developer needs and prototype solutions quickly.
• Design and build backend systems, APIs, infrastructure, and platform capabilities.
• Develop scalable AI-powered developer workflows and core non-AI systems.
• Lead high-impact projects, align stakeholders, and make pragmatic tradeoffs.
• Mentor engineers and shape a roadmap that delivers meaningful improvements.
