Job summary
Reddit is seeking an experienced AI-powered developer tools engineer to design and build platforms, services, and workflows that improve how Reddit engineers develop software. You'll work across backend systems, infrastructure, and AI-powered workflows, collaborating with CI/CD, security, and product teams.
The role emphasizes scalability, reliability, and developer productivity. You’ll mentor engineers and help shape a roadmap that reflects real developer needs and delivers meaningful
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with backend/infrastructure/core strength.
- 3+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Proficiency with Go in production.
- Experience designing APIs using GraphQL, REST, HTTP, or gRPC.
- Experience building platforms or internal developer tools.
- Experience with infrastructure, Kubernetes, and cloud providers.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-team high-impact projects in developer tooling.
- Design and build backend systems and APIs for developer workflows.
- Improve developer velocity and reliability of Reddit Engineering.
- Mentor engineers and shape roadmaps based on user needs.
- Collaborate with CI/CD, security, and product teams.
- Integrate tools with existing infra and deployment systems.
