Reddit, Inc. is seeking an experienced backend engineer to help scale our distributed systems across Reddit Pro and related initiatives. You will design, develop, and review APIs, collaborate across product, design, and other engineering teams, and mentor peers in a fast-moving remote environment.

The role emphasizes practical impact over process, balancing speed and reliability, and contributing to strategic backend decisions while maintaining high standards for security and performance.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience in large-scale distributed systems.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development in Go, Python, Java, or C++.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering to execute on strategy and build new features.
• Contribute to the full development cycle: design, development, testing, experimentation, and launch; review code and design docs.
