Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to help design and maintain the backend for our developer platform at internet scale. You will lead with strong technical vision, mentor others, and craft scalable systems across Go, Typescript, Redis, and Kubernetes.

You’ll own platform reliability, storage as a service initiatives, and guide cross-functional teams while delivering high-impact features in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience in backend/infrastructure, or related field.
• Technical leadership in large-scale projects and day-to-day troubleshooting.
• Strong mentoring and coaching of engineers and leading by example.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the backend infrastructure for the developer platform.
• Develop new features for external developers, such as SQL DB as a service.
• Contribute to design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch; review code and designs.
• Shape team strategy and encourage active participation in planning for the future.
