Job summary

Aequilibrium is seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to integrate and extend the Backbase Digital Banking Platform. The role is 100% remote for Americas-based candidates, with a consultative, client-facing emphasis and an Agile work environment.

You will work across teams to transform business requirements into robust technical architecture, ensuring high quality code, reviews, and scalable distributed systems within a professional services setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on commercial experience integrating, extending, or implementing the Backbase Digital Banking Platform in production environments.
• 5+ years of production-level experience with Java, Spring, and Spring extensions (Web MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Security).
• SOAP and RESTful Web Services with XML/JSON/RAML.
• Microservices architecture knowledge.
• Unit Testing with JUnit.
• Experience with enterprise servers like Tomcat, WebSphere, WebLogic, or JBoss.
• Git/SVN and other source control familiarity.
• Enterprise Integration Patterns with Apache Camel.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 2+ years of hands‑on commercial experience integrating, extending, or implementing the Backbase Digital Banking Platform in production environments.
• 5+ years of production‑level experience with Java, Spring, and Spring extensions, like Web MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
• SOAP and RESTful Web Services and tools like XML, JSON, and RAML.
• Microservices architecture knowledge.
• Experience performing Unit Testing using JUnit.
• Knowledge of application Servers like Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic, or JBoss.
• Strong grasp of Git, Subversion, and other source control technologies.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns and frameworks like Apache Camel.
• Experience developing large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service‑Oriented Architectures.
• Experience with cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with security and systems that handle sensitive data.
• Experience in the financial services industry or professional services.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with Agile Methodology, such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI).

Location

This is a 100% remote full‑time position for candidates based in the Americas. Candidates located outside of Canada will only be able to work for the company as independent contractors.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is CAD $90K-$130K annually (or the equivalent hourly rate for candidates outside of Canada, who will be working as contractors). The salary/rate offered will be based on skills and experience.
