Job summary
Aequilibrium is seeking a Technical Lead for the XR Training Academy, combining technical leadership with hands-on development in a cloud-native, AI-powered platform. You will work with Product Owner, Unity Lead, and design to translate vision into scalable software.
This Canada-only role is open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents. You will guide architecture, drive engineering standards, and contribute code while shaping the next generation of immersive training products.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- 3+ years in a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Solution Architect role.
- Experience designing and building cloud-native applications.
- Experience with Python/FastAPI, React or modern frontend frameworks, REST APIs and integrations.

- Break epics and features into technical workstreams
- Define acceptance criteria and technical success metrics
- Identify technical risks and mitigation strategies
- Support estimation and sprint planning activities
- Guide the implementation of AI-powered experiences
- Evaluate and integrate LLMs, AI services, and agent-based workflows
- Establish best practices for AI architecture, prompting, evaluation, and governance
- Coach team members on the effective use of AI-assisted development
- Contribute production-quality code
- Build backend services, APIs, integrations, and cloud infrastructure
- Support frontend and platform development as required
