Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Principal Architect, EDT Data & Analytics, to own the Azure-based data platform's reliability, security, and operations. You will drive DevOps automation, IaC provisioning, and platform governance for global data teams.

Lead security controls, SRE practices, and scalable data solutions across Databricks, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, and Unity Catalog, collaborating with Data Platform teams to meet business data needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, data warehousing, data engineering, or enterprise data platforms.
• 4+ years of experience managing platform security in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on architecture and engineering experience designing enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and cloud solutions.
• Experience with the Azure data stack including Databricks, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Data Factory, Key Vault, and Unity Catalog, plus Power BI.
• Experience designing and managing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience operating enterprise cloud data platforms with monitoring, incident management, and reliability improvements.
• Experience defining and operationalizing enterprise architecture standards and review processes.
• Experience implementing data security, privacy, and access controls in regulated environments (GxP, HIPAA, PII/PHI).
• Experience influencing technical design decisions across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate Azure DevOps pipelines for CI/CD across environments.
• Maintain high service availability through workflow management and release processes.
• Implement and manage IaC using Terraform for consistent provisioning.
• Own end-to-end environment provisioning including compute, storage, networking and access.
• Manage platform security with RBAC and security controls across data services.
• Enforce data security best practices including secrets management and identity integration.
• Operate the platform with an SRE mindset: monitor, alert, and handle incidents with RCA.
• Monitor and optimize integration runtimes and Databricks workloads.
• Collaborate with Data Platform and Data Product teams to design scalable data solutions.
• Engage with internal D&A teams to understand data needs and priorities.
• Evaluate and manage relationships with external data/analytics vendors.
