Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Principal Architect, EDT Data & Analytics, to own the Azure-based data platform’s reliability, security, and operations. You will lead DevOps automation, IaC provisioning, and platform security across Databricks, Synapse, and Unity Catalog, partnering with data teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, data warehousing, data engineering, or enterprise data platforms.
• 4+ years of experience managing platform security in enterprise Azure environments.
• Hands-on architecture and engineering experience building enterprise data platforms and pipelines.
• Experience with the Azure data stack (Databricks, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, SQL, Data Factory, Key Vault, Unity Catalog) and Power BI.
• Experience implementing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and Terraform IaC.
• Experience operating cloud data platforms (monitoring, incident management, reliability).
• Ability to define architecture standards, reference architectures, and design patterns.
• Experience implementing data security, privacy, and access controls (GxP, HIPAA, PII/PHI).
• Ability to influence technical design decisions across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own platform reliability, security, and operational excellence of enterprise data & analytics on Azure.
• Design, implement, and operate CI/CD pipelines for reliable releases.
• Manage infrastructure as code and environment provisioning with Terraform.
• Enforce platform security and least privilege access across services.
• Operate with an SRE mindset: monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with Data Platform teams to operationalize scalable data solutions.
• Engage stakeholders and manage relationships with data vendors as needed.
