Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) seeks a Senior SRE to lead cloud architecture and automation across multiple teams in a 24/7 production environment. You will drive design reviews, implement cloud frameworks on AWS, and mentor engineers while managing costs in public and private clouds.

Responsibilities include on-call participation, proactive monitoring, PoCs on emerging tech, and collaboration with Product, SRE, and Release teams to optimize deployment pipelines at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Systems/Applications automation in 24x7 Production support environments.
• 5+ years in DevOps, DevSecOps, or SRE in an AWS cloud environment.
• 5+ years' experience configuring and architecting with AWS services (Lambda, EC2, ECS, ELB, EventBridge, Kinesis, Route 53, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, CloudTrail, API Gateway, CloudFront, VPC, IAM, Security Hub, etc.).
• Fluency with scripting languages (Python/Shell/Perl/ PHP/Ruby) and/or Java/.NET development.
• Windows and Linux OS expertise.
• Experience with IAM, AD, SAML 2.0, SSO practices.
• Configuration management tooling for deployment and orchestration.
• CI/CD implementation history.
• Proven automation to reduce toil and support load.
• Proficiency in Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Drive cloud deployment discussions including trade-offs, risks, and best practices.
• Design and implement cloud frameworks and deployments using best practices.
• Collaborate to plan and deploy product releases.
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and epics with Cloud Platform and Operations.
• Build shared services supporting platform and application teams.
• Ensure 24/7 availability and operational readiness.
• Implement monitoring, alerts, trend analysis, and self-healing systems.
• Educate and mentor teams on AWS concepts.
• Provide technical analysis and solutions in a 24/7 production environment.
• Stay current with cloud technologies and run PoCs on new tech.
• Participate in on-call rotations and reduce toil and debt.
