Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) seeks an experienced AWS solution design engineer/architect to join the infrastructure cloud team as a Senior SRE. Lead cross-functional cloud initiatives, set best practices for architecture, and ensure cost control across public and private clouds.

Role involves mentoring teams, designing scalable cloud frameworks, and driving 24/7 production readiness. You will collaborate with Product Engineering, SRE, Cloud Automation, Infrastructure and Release

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Systems/Applications automation in 24x7 Production support environments.
• 5+ years of DevOps, preferably DevSecOps, or SRE in an AWS cloud environment.
• 5+ years' strong experience with configuring, managing, solutioning, and architecting with AWS (Lambda, EC2, ECS, ELB, EventBridge, Kinesis, Route 53, RDS and DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, CloudTrail, API Gateway, CloudFront, VPC, TransitGW, IAM, Security Hub, Service Mesh)
• Fluency with one or more scripting languages (Python/Shell/Perl/ PHP/Ruby) AND/OR Java/.NET
• In-depth OS knowledge in Windows and Linux
• Experience with IAM, Active Directory, ADFS, SAML 2.0, and Single sign-on practices
• Experience using configuration management tooling for deployment and workflow orchestration
• Proven background of implementing CI/CD for projects
• Automation track record
• Proficiency in Terraform

Responsibilities

• Drive discussions on trade-offs, best practices and risk mitigations for cloud deployments.
• Design and implement cloud frameworks and deployments leveraging best practices.
• Collaborate with Product and Support to plan and deploy product releases.
• Develop narratives, backlog grooming, epic planning, and sprint planning with platform leadership.
• Build shared services for platform and application teams.
• Ensure 24/7 availability and operational readiness of services.
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting and self-healing systems.
• Educate and mentor teams on AWS concepts.
• Analyze, resolve problems in a 24/7 production environment.
• Monitor cloud tech trends and conduct PoCs on new tech.
• Participate in on-call rotation and reduce toil and debt to lower ops load.
