Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Cloud Engineer (AWS) to support documentation and engineering, security, and operational processes for a large federal agency. The role emphasizes cloud SaaS/PaaS/IaaS fundamentals with hands-on AWS experience.

You will design scalable solutions and help transition them to operations while ensuring security controls and reliability across distributed applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years IT experience supporting federal government agencies.
• 4+ years designing/implementing distributed apps with reliability.
• Hands-on AWS experience required; cloud design experience.
• Experience delivering large-scale solutions.
• Familiar with lift-and-shift migrations.
• AWS or Cloud Architect certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions for flexibility, scalability and security controls.
• Support the development of documentation for engineering, security and operations.
• Perform business and technical analysis to aid customer decisions.
• Facilitate transition to operations; ensure ongoing operations within boundaries.
• Strong grasp of cloud fundamentals; design and implement cloud solutions.
