Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Cloud Engineer (AWS) to support the development of documentation for engineering, security, and operations at a large federal agency. The role demands strong AWS experience and a solid grasp of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS fundamentals for scalable, secure solutions.

You will design flexible architectures, aid in decision-making through technical analyses, and guide transitions from project to production while ensuring operations stay within defined boundaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 4–7 years of IT experience supporting federal government agencies.
• 4+ years designing or supporting highly distributed applications with strong architecture.
• Hands-on AWS experience required; other cloud services acceptable with design experience.
• Experience delivering large-scale solutions progressing to production state.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions for flexibility, scalability, and security controls.
• Develop documentation supporting engineering, security, and operations.
• Perform business and technical analysis to aid customer decisions.
• Facilitate seamless transition of solutions to operations and ongoing stability.
