Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks an experienced Cloud Engineer (AWS) to support documentation for engineering, security, and operations for a large federal agency. The role requires strong cloud fundamentals (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and hands-on AWS experience.

You will design scalable solutions, assist with migration approaches, and help transition solutions to operations, ensuring reliable production systems. A federal IT background and security-minded approach are favored.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 4–7 years of professional IT experience supporting federal agencies.
• 4+ years designing, implementing, or supporting highly distributed applications with strong architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (Required) or other cloud services with architectural design.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale solutions that moved to production.
• Develop cloud-based solution designs and implementation plans based on customer needs.
• Familiar with lift-and-shift migrations and cloud migration methodologies.
• AWS Certification or Cloud Architect Certification (or desire to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Design solutions that maximize flexibility and scalability while meeting security controls.
• Support the development of documentation to support engineering, security, and operational processes.
• Perform business and technical analyses to aid customer decisions.
• Facilitate transition of the solution to operations and ensure ongoing safe operation.
