Job summary

Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio invites applications for the position of Assistant Vice President for Student Financial Services. This newly reorganized role oversees both financial aid and student accounts, reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment.

The AVP will lead a four-person enrollment management team, strengthen the Student Financial Services function, improve processes, and ensure state and federal aid compliance while supporting enrollment growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree helpful.
• 8+ years of progressive financial aid and/or student financial services experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Knowledge of financial aid and state aid compliance.
• Deep knowledge of and experience with federal student aid processing and reporting.
• Familiarity with student information systems.
• Experience designing internal controls and billing policies.
• Understanding of receivables.
• Aptitude for resolving student account matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across financial aid and student accounts.
• Build, strengthen, and develop a high-performing Student Financial Services team.
• Improve financial aid processes to support new student enrollment growth.
• Help maintain stable net tuition revenue and reduce the institutional discount rate over 3–5 years.
• Ensure compliance with state financial aid requirements.
• Oversee federal student aid processing, reporting, and data filing.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls and billing policies.
• Provide leadership around receivables and the resolution of student account issues.
• Collaborate with enrollment management leadership to strengthen the overall student experience.
