Job summary

Theharborbank in Baltimore, MD seeks an AVP/Loan Documentation Manager to oversee loan document creation, closing processes and regulatory compliance for diverse loan types. You will coordinate with loan officers, attorneys and title companies to ensure accurate packages and timely closings.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in loan documentation or related fields, with strong analytical, communication and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of loan documentation, closing or related experience.
• Knowledge of general loan documentation, closing processes and relevant compliance requirements.
• Familiar with loan documentation systems and tickler maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare new, renewal, extension and/or modification loan documents in accordance with credit approval and regulatory requirements for all loan types.
• Complete pre-closing loan checklist for each documentation request to ensure complete and accurate packages.
• Review attorney-prepared documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Order/review title work, due diligence reports and insurance documents for closings.
• Calculate closing costs and prepare settlement statements and disclosures for all loan types.
• Track receipt of documents and follow up on closing conditions to ensure timely closings.
• Maintain communication with loan officers, attorneys, title companies and others as needed.
• Maintain loan document tracking log for timely completion of requests.
• Review and negotiate loan documents with Officers and borrowers; coordinate with counsel as needed.
• Communicate with external and internal customers daily; interact with attorneys, escrow/title companies and insurers.
• Prepare lien releases for paid loans and maintain retention files; retrieve archived files as requested.
• Counsel loan officers on loan documentation matters.
• Train junior team members and perform quality control checks on their work.
• Stay current on federal and state laws, Bank policies and compliance obligations.
