Job summary

FIRSTAR BANK is seeking a proactive Director of Loan Documentation to lead the end-to-end preparation of consumer, real estate, and commercial loan documents. You will manage a team, mentor staff, and ensure all documentation complies with laws, bank policies, and credit terms.

You will coordinate with Relationship Officers, Credit Administration, and Compliance to resolve issues and achieve timely closings, while strengthening controls and reducing risk across operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in lending operations or loan documentation
• Experience leading a team and cross-functional collaboration
• Knowledge of LaserPro and/or nCino is preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Loan Documentation Preparation function, including supervising, coaching, developing, and evaluating team members.
• Oversee the preparation and review of consumer, real estate, and commercial loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance, and alignment with approved loan terms.
• Ensure loan documentation is prepared in accordance with applicable laws and bank policies, procedures, and credit terms.
• Prepare and review collateral documentation for secured and unsecured loans to support collateral position.
• Collaborate with Commercial Relationship Officers, Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Compliance, and other partners to resolve documentation issues and facilitate timely closings.
• Establish and maintain quality controls and internal controls; support audits and regulatory examinations as requested.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and mitigate operational risk.
• Provide cross-training and backup support to ensure continuity of operations.
